> Boston Dynamics has unveiled a new hand for its Atlas humanoid robot. The person in charge of the robot's behaviour explained the design to the specialist site The Robot Report.

The new hand has no little finger and is smaller than the previous one, The Robot Report notes.

According to Alberto Rodriguez, who is in charge of Atlas's behaviour, a hand with two thumbs, one on each side, initially had many supporters. With it, a single assembly line would have been enough, with no need to tell a right hand from a left hand.
