# Docomo imagines waiter robots that refuse to serve alcohol to minors

> NTT Docomo has developed a platform that links personal AI assistants to all kinds of robots and checks every order before it is carried out, Japanese site Impress Watch reports.

Docomo gives the example of a restaurant. A customer places an order through their AI assistant, and the platform picks a service robot. It would stop the robot from bringing alcohol to a minor, or an allergen-containing dish to a customer with an allergy. The company presents this use as a possibility for the future.

The system compares the user's age and other information with rules defined for each situation. It blocks any unauthorised action before it is carried out. Only authorised instructions reach the robot.

Personal data stays within the platform: the robot receives only the movement command. Every action is logged, with the person who gave the order and the time.

To connect the components, Docomo relies on A2A, a standard protocol that lets AI agents talk to one another. According to Impress Watch, the robot could also adapt its movements to its surroundings, for example by going round a person blocking its way during service.

The company now wants to test how useful the system is in practice. It plans internal use, research with robot makers and trials with professionals.
