# 200 Go of DRAM for a future humanoid, against 12 Go for a current service robot, according to Micron

> Memory maker Micron is developing EIM, a memory designed for the AI computing carried out on board robots, Kuai Keji reports.

According to Kuai Keji, which published the information on 16 October, the industry expects mass production in the second half of 2028.

According to a Micron estimate, future high-performance humanoids will need about 200 Go of DRAM and 4 To of storage. Current service robots generally make do with 12 Go of DRAM and 256 Go of storage.

Lee Cheol, a Micron executive, says low-power LPDDR memory will no longer be enough once more powerful vision-language models arrive. He expects humanoids to move to HBM, a high-bandwidth memory.

The principle behind EIM is to stack low-power DRAM on a logic chip, so that data can be processed quickly in the memory itself. Micron is studying its application to LPDDR6.
