The manufacturer designed it to teach children block-based programming, then the Python language.

On its page, Makeblock suggests mazes, line following and building projects as programming activities.

According to the manufacturer, children can modify the robot with LEGO bricks, laser-cut parts or coloured paper.

Makeblock cites a summer robotics workshop in Croatia: children there added LEGO bricks to their Codey Rocky to get over the obstacles on a track more easily.

The manufacturer states 2 hours of use at full power.
