According to Wonder Workshop, pupils become attached to their robot. They give it a name, talk to it and apologise to it when it runs into a wall.

Wonder Workshop now belongs to MORAVIA Education. The manufacturer says Dash comes already assembled and charged.

The company presents it as ideal for children aged 5 to 14, from primary school to lower secondary school.

The youngest start by drawing routes and chaining simple blocks together. They then move on to Blockly, where over the year they learn loops, events, functions and conditions.

Dash has no camera: according to the manufacturer, sensors let it detect obstacles, hear sounds and respond to buttons. A full charge lasts about 5 hours of play, and recharging takes less than an hour.
