# Roomba Duo: the iRobot prototype that carries a small robot and drops it where it cannot go itself

> The Roomba Duo is a two-part vacuum and mop, a large robot and a small companion, shown by iRobot as a prototype at the IFA 2026 show in Berlin.

Published on 2026-10-24

The main robot has a mechanical arm on top, and the end of the arm stays flat as it moves. According to iRobot, the arm lets it carry the small robot, then set it down and release it in narrow spaces the main robot cannot enter.

The two machines share the work on the same floor plan of a home. The large robot vacuums and mops the open floor areas, while the small one goes under furniture and into corners, the manufacturer explains.

For the companion, iRobot is not starting from scratch: it is the Roomba Plus 575 Combo, a model released earlier in 2026.

iRobot does not yet describe this as a product on sale. The manufacturer showed the prototype in Berlin, on its IFA stand, from 4 to 8 September 2026.
