According to the Taiwanese daily Economic Daily News, as picked up by the Chinese site IT之家, Nvidia and Hon Hai (Foxconn) have presented robots at work on their manufacturing equipment for the first time.

The robots handle the assembly of busbars for Nvidia's GB300, metal conductors that distribute high-current power, as well as the connection of several connectors. These are complex steps that depended on human labour. The stated aim is more consistent and more efficient assembly.

According to the article, more than 95% of busbars are assembled without failure. For connecting several connectors, the success rate is around 90% to 95%.

On speed, the target is to fit a busbar in under 124 seconds and to connect 4 groups of connectors in under 72 seconds. Over the whole cycle, the robots must not take more than twice as long as an experienced worker.

IT之家 notes that Foxconn is the world's largest electronics contract manufacturer, with more than 40% of the global AI server market. It is also the main supplier of Nvidia's GB200 NVL72 and GB300 NVL72 architectures.
