# Realbotix launches Echo companion humanoids with silicone skin from 11,950 dollars, subscription extra

> Canadian company Realbotix has unveiled two Echo robots, a tabletop model and a life-size one, according to Interesting Engineering.

Prices start at 11,950 dollars, and the life-size version costs 59,950 dollars. Both models combine silicone skin, facial expressions and compatibility with conversational AI platforms.

The tabletop model is 32 inches tall, weighs about 25 pounds and has 17 degrees of freedom. Its synthetic silicone skin covers the face and neck. Realbotix aims it at education, therapy and personal well-being, but these are intended uses, not observed results.

The life-size model is 72 inches tall in the female version and 77 inches in the male version, and weighs about 88 pounds. Its 39 stated degrees of freedom are used for upper-body movement, not for a fully articulated body like a human's.

The document stresses that these robots are built for interaction: the large model's 39 degrees of freedom concern the upper body.

A mandatory monthly software subscription comes on top of the purchase price. A deposit of 199 dollars is enough to reserve a unit. Realbotix plans a first batch of 250 robots, of which 225 are tabletop models and 25 are life-size models, to be delivered in the second half of 2027.
