# Shanghai: queue outside a humanoid robot shop, couple buy one for an 80-year-old uncle

According to the local outlet Shangguan Xinwen, cited by the Korean website Robot Newspaper, three groups of customers walked into the shop within 10 minutes, often families of four or five. With more than 100 groups a day during the holiday, the shop had to set up a queue outside the entrance.

On 3 October, a couple in their fifties came to try the T1 robot and decided to buy one for an 80-year-old uncle. The newspaper sees this as a sign of strong interest among older people.

According to a shop employee, the main buyers are families, older people and students. Small but designed for play, the Q1 and T1 also appeal to children.

The Q1 is 88 cm tall, weighs 15 kg and folds away for storage. The T1 changes shape: it rolls like a humanoid on wheels, then can move on four legs outdoors.

Besides the display area, PrimeBOT has set up a 3D printing and accessories corner in the shop, as well as an area for trying out the robots. The company plans to offer introductory AI classes and English conversation sessions with the robots there.
