Price enquiries are plentiful at the fair stand. Yet according to staff there, quoted by Leiphone, which draws on the site Kuai Keji, not a single GD01 has been sold so far.

The machine is not cheap. Unveiled by Unitree in May, this transformable robotic suit that a person can climb into is sold from several million yuan.

According to him, the GD01 was designed not for the city or for indoor use, but for rough outdoor terrain, where it is meant to carry out specific missions.

The robot has already had its moment of fame. In July, it appeared on the cover of Time magazine alongside Wang Xingxing, and its silhouette filled almost the whole page.
