AI agent
- In French:
- Agent IA
Definition
A system in which a language model directs its own work: it chooses the steps to follow, calls tools and adjusts its approach according to the results it obtains. Anthropic distinguishes it from a “workflow”, in which the sequence of calls to the model and to tools is fixed in advance by code. An agent brings flexibility at the price of less predictable behaviour.
