Singularity
- In French:
- Singularité
Definition
A configuration of a robot in which its tool loses the ability to move in at least one direction, whatever the speed of the joints. Near a singularity, small movements of the tool can require very high joint speeds. Mathematically, it is a configuration where the Jacobian loses rank.
