Whole-body control
- In French:
- Commande du corps entier
- Abbreviation:
- WBC
Definition
A control approach that computes the movements of all of a robot’s joints at the same time in order to fulfil several tasks at once: keeping balance, walking, grasping an object. It contrasts with handling each task separately, which limits what a robot can do in the real world. It mainly concerns robots with many degrees of freedom, such as humanoids.
