The robots span the manufacturer's whole range: wheeled humanoids, half-size and full-size humanoids, and a four-legged robot. According to AGIBOT, they are meant to address the shortage of machines in universities.

The first wave includes more than 20 institutions, among them Beijing University, Tsinghua, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Sun Yat-sen University.

The announcement, relayed on 16 October by IT之家, provides for courses, research projects and practical work to be built jointly with the universities.
