According to the Chinese site IT之家, Boston Dynamics last week opened a test and training centre for its Atlas humanoid at Hyundai's Metaplant America site, near Savannah.
Boston Dynamics has opened a test and training centre for its Atlas humanoid robot, called RMAC. It is located at the Metaplant America site of the Hyundai group, near Savannah, in the state of Georgia. The aim is to bring Atlas directly into the group's car assembly lines.
Atlas robots are already training there, according to Boston Dynamics. For now, they do not work alone: trainers pilot them remotely.
According to the robotics strategy Hyundai published in July, Atlas is due to start work in 2028, first at the Metaplant plant in Georgia. Its first task will be sorting spare parts.
