Influencer takes on three robots in a cage in San Francisco, California calls time on the fight
In San Francisco, the company REK pitted a US influencer against three robots in a cage, in a show billed as the “world's first human-machine cage fight”, Chinese site Kuai Keji (MyDrivers) reports.
In the second round, Zhongqing's T800 humanoid kicked the influencer against the wall of the cage as the crowd shouted. The human fighter recovered and eventually toppled the robot to win the round.
According to Kuai Keji, this modified T800 weighs nearly 90 kg and its kick can reach a force of 385 kg. The first opponent, a small robot, was put on the ground quickly.
The last robot, named “Prédateur”, was faster and got back up after every fall to attack again, without ever tiring. Exhausted, the influencer lost this third round.
After the event, the Californian authorities ordered REK to stop these human-versus-robot bouts. They consider it was a cage-fighting show held without authorisation.
The case remains unclear: according to Kuai Keji, no local law explicitly bans fighting a robot, and the boxing rules only cover fights between humans. REK's boss therefore believes the event cannot be ruled illegal.
