1X's NEO humanoid does the housework in a machine-washable suit
Made by 1X, NEO is a domestic robot with arms and legs that takes on household chores, according to the manufacturer's official page.
The idea is simple, according to 1X: you give NEO a list of tasks, set the time by which they should be done, and come home to a cleaner house each day.
NEO cannot yet do everything on its own. For a complex task it does not know, a 1X expert can supervise its movements remotely, at scheduled times, to help it learn.
The manufacturer has gone for softness: the robot is wrapped in a soft structure, and both its suit and its shoes are made of machine-washable nylon.
According to 1X's technical sheet, NEO weighs 66 lbs, can lift 154 lbs and can carry 55 lbs.
Its 842 Wh battery gives 4 hours of battery life, the manufacturer says.
