Torque wrench cobots to assemble machine tools: Robolution targets a 99% success rate

Robolution has announced it is taking part as a co-development body in a public research project on autonomous machine tool assembly, Robot Newspaper (로봇신문) reports.

Within the project, Robolution is responsible for developing and commissioning on site two building blocks: autonomous logistics using autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and precision assembly using collaborative robots.

The company plans to develop an assembly module for a collaborative robot fitted with a torque wrench, which carries out tightening according to the defined work information and screwing conditions.

The project runs from July 2026 to December 2029. It is part of a technology development programme run by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, managed by the agency KEIT.

The announced final targets are a 20% increase in machine tool assembly productivity and an intelligent automation rate of 80%. On the robot side, the project aims for 95% autonomous navigation accuracy for the AMRs and a 99% assembly success rate for the cobots.

Robolution, which makes industrial and collaborative robots, is a subsidiary of Neuromeka, a robotic automation specialist.
