Universal Robots cobots: Teradyne and China's Elite Robots settle dispute out of court

The robotics arm of US group Teradyne and Chinese cobot maker Elite Robots have ended their legal dispute over robots and software, Korean site Robot Newspaper reports.

According to The Robot Report, cited by Robot Newspaper, Teradyne Robotics settled its dispute with Elite Robots by mutual agreement on 1 October.

The two companies have not published the terms of the agreement. They say it does not amount to an admission by Elite Robots of liability or of infringement of intellectual property.

Teradyne says the agreement reflects both parties' shared interest in reducing the time and cost of a prolonged proceeding.

The dispute concerned the software of Universal Robots, a subsidiary of Teradyne Robotics. Teradyne argued that Elite Robots' cobots and software resembled its technology and infringed its copyright.

Teradyne filed the complaint earlier this year against Elite Robots' German subsidiary.
