Autonomy
- In French:
- Autonomie décisionnelle
Definition
A robot’s ability to perceive, analyse, plan, decide and act by itself to achieve the goals set by an operator. It is measured in degrees: the NIST ALFUS framework rates it according to the complexity of the mission, the difficulty of the environment and the independence from humans. Vuntum grades this criterion on its own scale, from A0 (teleoperated) to A5 (general-purpose autonomy), described in its methodology.
