Behavior tree
- In French:
- Arbre de comportement
- Abbreviation:
- BT
Definition
A structure that organises a robot’s tasks as a tree: each branch sequences, conditions or replaces actions according to their success or failure. It makes a complex behaviour more readable and more modular than a state machine loaded with dozens of states and transitions. Nav2, the ROS 2 navigation stack, uses it to describe its movement logic.
