Force control
- In French:
- Commande en effort
Definition
A control mode in which the robot regulates the force it exerts on its environment rather than its position. It is used for contact tasks: polishing, inserting a part, pressing on a surface with a given force. It requires the force to be measured or estimated, for example with a force/torque sensor at the wrist.
