Synthetic data
- In French:
- Données synthétiques
Definition
Training data, in particular annotated images, produced by a simulator rather than collected in the real world. It costs less to produce in large quantities and arrives already labelled, since the simulator knows the position of every object. Its limit is the gap with reality, which is narrowed for example by randomly varying textures, lighting and positions.
