Domain randomization
- In French:
- Randomisation de domaine
Definition
A technique that consists of randomly varying, during training in simulation, parameters such as textures, lighting or camera position. Exposed to enough variation, the model treats the real world as just one more variant. Josh Tobin and his co-authors applied it in 2017 to an object detector trained only on simulated images, then used on a real robot.
