Gripper

In French:
Préhenseur

Definition

An end effector designed to grasp and hold objects. A distinction is made in particular between parallel grippers, whose two jaws close in a straight line, centric and angular grippers, and magnetic or adhesive grippers. The choice depends on the shape, mass and fragility of the objects to be handled.
