Digit 5 humanoid promises 90 minutes of work for 9 minutes of charging with Nyobolt batteries

The new battery system in Digit 5 is meant to deliver 90 minutes of operation for 9 minutes of charging. The ratio of working time to charging time rises to 10:1, against 2:1 for Digit 4.

According to Agility's chief commercial officer, Daniel Diez, Digit 5 will provide more than 20 hours of productive work out of 24, which is more than two full shifts.

Founded in 2019, Nyobolt says it combines its own anode material, an advanced cell design and integrated power electronics. The company sees this as the way to achieve fast charging, high energy density, lower weight and a longer service life.

Agility expects the first deployments of Digit 5 fitted with Nyobolt technology to begin in the first half of next year. Deliveries are then due to ramp up over 6 to 9 months.

Separately, Agility plans to enter the Bourse by merging with the special purpose acquisition company Churchill Capital Corp XI, Robot Newspaper reports.
