Oa takes 24% of PyBrain AI, a young packing robot maker, and plans to rename itself OATOX

Oa, which is listed on the Kosdaq, is taking a stake in the young company PyBrain AI to automate parcel picking and packing in its warehouses, Robot Newspaper reports.

Oa gets 24% of the capital by subscribing to new shares issued by PyBrain AI. The Korean paper Robot Newspaper presents the deal as the start of a collaboration on logistics automation.

Oa's board approved the deal on the 7th, and the subscription and shareholder agreements were signed on the 8th.

PyBrain AI was founded in August 2025. Two of its robots are in trials: Py PACKR, which packs automatically, and Py PICKR, which moves around on its own to pick and carry products. The first recognises items by machine vision and handles the packing, the adhesive tape and the printing of the shipping label. The second navigates using a lidar and a depth camera.

The roles are split. PyBrain AI designs and builds the robots, while Oa provides its field experience and a test site. An automated packing system is already being tested at its logistics centre in Pohang.

On 26 November, Oa will put to an extraordinary general meeting its change of name to OATOX, as well as the addition of robot and automation activities to its articles of association.
