Lidar
Definition
A sensor that measures distances by emitting laser pulses and timing the return of the reflected light. By scanning its surroundings, it produces a precise three-dimensional description of the shape of objects and surfaces. On a mobile robot, it is used to map, to localize and to detect obstacles.
