The robot failed to keep its balance on landing a side flip and crashed onto its side. On impact, the lower part of one leg came off at the joint and landed on the black protective mat. Spectators filmed the whole scene.

The robot was the H2-X, a new humanoid that Unitree had unveiled the day before, on 21 October. Its official name translates as “Legendary Guardian of Kung-Fu”.

According to Kuai Keji, which cites other media, the video of the fall drew a strong reaction. It was filmed during the “conference on physical AI and the partner ecosystem” organised by Unitree.

According to the site, Unitree had not yet published an explanation of the incident.
