Korea's Yujin Robot to trial humanoids in a working logistics centre
Korean firm Yujin Robot, which has so far automated the transport of parts and products with autonomous mobile robots (AMR), is expanding into humanoids for manual tasks in factories and warehouses, Robot Newspaper (로봇신문) reports.
The company first wants to give humanoids tasks that have so far been done by hand: picking products, sorting, loading, inspection and operating equipment.
The trials draw on a public project under the 2026 robotics industry technology development programme, run by the Korean agency KEIT, which reports to the Ministry of Industrie.
A working logistics centre will serve as the test site. Yujin Robot will check that a humanoid can chain several tasks together, and whether it holds up in the field and economically.
The company does not intend to tie itself to a single humanoid model. It wants to be able to integrate the robot that suits each site and to sell a complete package with AMR, automation equipment and software.
