Definition
A sensor that combines accelerometers and gyroscopes, sometimes magnetometers, to measure an object’s accelerations and rotation rates along several axes. By integrating these measurements one estimates orientation and movement, but small errors accumulate and the estimate drifts over time. It is therefore combined with other sensors, such as wheel encoders.
