Cycloidal drive
- In French:
- Réducteur cycloïdal
Definition
A reducer in which a wheel with a cycloidal profile, driven by an eccentric, rolls inside a ring of pins, which has one pin more than the wheel has teeth. This principle offers high reduction ratios in a compact volume, good shock resistance and very low backlash. Nabtesco’s RV reducer places a spur gear stage ahead of the cycloidal stage.
