Digit is to handle online order picking at GXO sites in Statesville (Tennessee) and Lebanon (Indiana). The companies plan to deploy Digit 4 there from early 2027.

GXO plans to move to Digit 5, the next model, as soon as it goes on sale.

The first deployment dates back to late 2023, at a site in Flowery Branch, Georgia. The companies say it was the first commercial deployment of humanoids in real operating conditions, and the first contract to lease humanoid robots billed as a service.

At that site, Digit has since moved more than 100,000 totes, according to The Robot Report. It works alongside existing automation and places the totes on conveyors.
