According to the iM Securities report, Tesla announced the start of production on the conference call that followed its third-quarter results. Initial production has begun on the high-volume line at the Fremont plant in California.

Tesla maintains its target of producing one million units a year. The company warns, however, that it will take more than a year to get there and that the pace will be slow at first.

The first ten to twenty thousand units will not be sold. The robots will move around on their own to collect the data they need to learn, because no platform comparable to the one cars have exists. Deliveries to customers are due to begin at the end of 2027, first at industrial sites with dangerous or repetitive tasks carried out 24 hours a day.

The report names Robotis, HL Mando and Korea PIM as possible beneficiaries in South Korea. Robotis has already supplied actuators to Tesla and Figure AI.
