In a staged video, Unitree's H2-X humanoid lifts the front of a car and jumps 4 metres

The video, published on the 21st, is titled “H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian”. Set in a scrapyard, it shows the robot punching and kicking car doors. It then jumps from a platform marked as 4 metres high and lands on both feet.

The robot then steps between a woman and an intruder armed with a knife. In another scene, it lifts the front of a car to free a person trapped underneath. It also moves a child-sized mannequin out of a vehicle's path. According to AI Times, all these scenes were prepared in advance for the shoot. The robot did not respond to a real accident.

The company does not say how much of this comes from the robot's own decisions, from remote piloting or from movements programmed in advance.

Unitree claims up to about 8 hours of operation, but for a robot that stays standing. AI Times states that this does not mean 8 hours spent walking, chaining martial arts moves or lifting heavy loads.

At the end of the video, the manufacturer warns against dangerous modifications and unauthorised use. It also advises staying at least 2 to 3 metres from the robot. The price, release date and detailed specifications of the H2-X have not yet been announced.

Update of 24 October: According to the US site Futurism, the H2-X is based on the H2, an existing Unitree humanoid. It is human-sized, stands 71 inches tall and weighs about 155 pounds. In the video, the robot also performs forward somersaults over cars and strings together acrobatic kicks.
