Power and force limiting

In French:
Limitation de puissance et de force
Abbreviation:
PFL

Definition

A collaborative operating mode in which the robot limits the power and force it can exert, so that contact with a person stays below acceptable thresholds. The ISO/TS 15066 specification gives maximum force and pressure values for each part of the body, drawn from a study on the onset of pain. It is the only one of the four collaborative modes in which contact between the robot and the person can occur.
