In Chengdu, three AgiBot humanoids guide tourists, speak Sichuanese and sell products
Chinese maker AgiBot says on its website that its Lingxi X2 humanoid robots are now in regular service in Chengdu's Kuanzhai alleys, following an agreement with the city's tourism group.
Three Lingxi X2 robots share the work. The first welcomes visitors, answers common questions and gives directions. The second tells the story of the district and the culture of Chengdu, and can speak to tourists in the Sichuan dialect. The third handles on-the-spot sales: it presents products, picks them up and hands them over.
AgiBot says this is the first two-legged humanoid in regular service in a major tourist district in China. The deployment follows an agreement with the Chengdu tourism group.
The sales robot runs on an AI model that links vision, language and movement. It learned from real manipulation data rather than from movements programmed in advance. According to AgiBot, it handles more than 20 product categories, succeeds in more than 98% of operations and takes about 30 seconds per task.
For a new product, the company's business customers can record manipulation data themselves on site. They then launch training and deployment from SkillForge, the platform AgiBot offers to these customers.
