Overview

The Mobile FR3 Duo is a mobile manipulator designed by Franka Robotics, a manufacturer based in Germany. It is intended for research and education.

The robot is at prototype stage and was unveiled in 2025.

According to the manufacturer, its maximum speed is 1.75 m/s and teleoperation is possible. Also according to the manufacturer, the onboard computer is an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin.

On the software side, the manufacturer lists an official SDK, libfranka. ROS compatibility is provided through ros2, for Franka FR3 robots.

Among similar robots, Stretch 4 carries a NUC and has its own official SDK, whereas the Mobile FR3 Duo uses libfranka. The Mobile FR3 Duo can be teleoperated and supports ros2. RB-Y1 offers ros2 and teleoperation; its real-time control computer is separate from the user application PC.

Human Support Robot is older: it was announced in 2012, against 2025 for the Mobile FR3 Duo. It can be teleoperated.
